Aged Care Subsidies and Supplements

Worth a look. The amount of subsidy and supplement will determine the daily amount of care fee the resident will pay. Means testing will put an annual cap on the amount, but not a daily cap. This may mean that the Means Tested Care Fee could appear to be very high in the initial stages of what is called a "start date year", which is a year based on when the recipient first entered care. Potentially quite alarming for residents trying to plan cashflows.
