Your privacy matters. This policy explains how Later Life Advice collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our app and website.

Advise and Assist Pty Ltd (ABN 15 159 528 113, AFSL 499173), trading as Later Life Advice, operates the "Later Life" mobile application and the laterlifeadvice.com.au website. Advise and Assist Pty Ltd is also the entity behind entitlemate. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Advise and Assist Pty Ltd and its trading names.
Our registered office is Suite 309, 350 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000.
2. What Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account or use our app, you may provide:
- Account information: Your name & email address (via email sign-up, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple)
- Financial profile data: Income, assets, superannuation balances, property values, and other financial details you choose to enter for the purpose of modelling entitlements
- Care information: Aged care classification levels, care needs, and health-related data you enter for simulation purposes
🔒 Simulator Privacy
The Later Life app operates as a digital twin simulator. All financial modelling is performed based on the inputs you provide. We do not access your real bank accounts, government records, or any external financial systems. No real-world account access is requested or required.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the app, we automatically collect:
- Analytics data: Screen views, feature usage patterns, and app interaction events (via Firebase Analytics) to help us improve the user experience
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Crash data: If the app encounters an error, we may collect diagnostic information to fix bugs
We do not collect precise location data, health data from HealthKit, or advertising identifiers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the service: Calculate and display your entitlement simulations, aged care fee estimates, and financial position summaries
- Sync your data: If you create an account, securely store your profile so you can access it across devices
- Improve the app: Understand which features are most useful and identify areas for improvement
- Communicate with you: Respond to support requests sent to brendan@laterlifeadvice.com.au
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not share your financial profile data with third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure, which provides:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Access controlled by Firebase Authentication
- Data stored in Australian or Asia-Pacific data centres where available
We implement Firestore Security Rules to ensure that each user can only access their own data. No other user, and no Later Life Advice staff member, can view your financial profile through the app.

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

6. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to:
- Access your data: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correct your data: Update or correct inaccurate information at any time through the app
- Delete your data: Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us
- Withdraw consent: You can stop using the app at any time; your locally stored data can be cleared from your device

7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your data from our systems within 30 days. Anonymous analytics data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement purposes.
8. Children's Privacy
The Later Life app is designed for adults managing later-life financial decisions. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
